Umm... Couldn't you have tried your 1y in the buggy before buying another one or before even asking this question in the first place? Your logic? Seriously what a silly way to potentially blow $250 dollars when you could easily have saved yourself instead. The 1Y should be a great choice, but seriously, I see lots of people ask questions about motors that are similar to what they already have and expect us to give them better answers.

ok....my logic....here goes...

because my question was between the 1512 and the 1515, not the 1Y.
i already know how the 1y does which is why i didn't ask "do you think the 1Y is the best choice out of the 3."

i wanted the opinions of the best of the 2 for my application. the fact that someone mentioned that the 1Y was the better choice just further affirmed that i was about the use a higher KV motor for something i would probably like less than the 1Y i already had due to the efficiency of the 1Y.

besides the fact i wouldn't take the 1Y out of my current application for the buggy, i'd just buy another... which i did.

i like to get other people's experiences and opinions...in this case, it really didn't save me any money because i still spent 250 on another motor, i just feel like i made the best choice due to the feedback that the people who posted helpful advise, gave me.

[QUOTEat the same time, if the motor does draw a bit more amps than the 1Y, it might be bad for my batteries as i don't run awsome packs in my 6s combos (20C is about the best C rating i use). ] [/QUOTE]

when you higher voltage amperage ratings become less of a issue

That is partially true, but it really depends on the driving you do and your gearing as a motor is capable of the same amp draw across any voltage. So stop and go can be just as torturous on 6s as it is on 4s. Your avg amp draw will be less over a full run expecially on high speed passes, but spikes will remain pretty much the same.
