If your looking for the best bashing truck you can have, why not just build your own RC? You can build it for your driving style. A chassis is extremely simple to make and just figure out your going to be doing with it. Crazy jumps? Maybe a Maxx or Savage style suspension. Building something fast that can take small bumps and handle well? Throw a Revo style suspension on there. Building your own chassis means you can design it with your specific electronics and batteries in mind. You can go with the aftermarket for good, solid parts. RPM have about the most durable stuff on the market and can't be beat for the price. CVDs can be found to fit nearly anything and diffs are going to depend on the suspension you choose. The coolest thing is it would be unique and all yours. You can give it a super low COG for handling or raise it up for huge jumps.
Or you can just build your savage ;)
The answer is no. And yes, mine is faster.

I dont drive hard like you guys do. Racing TC for almost 4 years really smoothes your drive style out. I will try the stock XL diffs and all that
3spd so I can get some nice run time. I know that will help out with run time, and heat, and add that on mech brakes and im solid. I will not have a 20lb truck, it will be nice and light, most likely I will have some lower MAH batts, and swap them out. I will run LPR truggy wheels/tires for the most part. Will try out some XL pins for winter and run in the mud and all. Will run 4 shocks, either some 16mm jammin BB's, or maybe muggy shocks
I dont really like the LST, nothing againt it, I just dont like the lay out on it. Im not much of a losi fan

That would be sick! I will def have to try this out some day, but for now more money goes to racing. I DO have a job now though!   Whoo, haha being 15 that helps a TON, and better that, its at R/C Hobbies
We need to get ideas going for a custom basher! If enough people cared for something, I would look into it, would be a ton of fun for sure! Get Mike to machine the parts and all

I'm going to go against the trend here, and say Schumacher Havoc. You'd need to make yourself a custom motor mount to electrify it, but it's built like Fort Knox on wheels. Seriously, there is no tougher RC out of the box. Downside is that it's RWD, but if you want a truck that'll take a real mashing then it's gotta be the Havoc IMO. Just doesn't break.
Of course, building a totally custom machine could be awesome too, if you do it right.

I have to say that my lst2 has proven much stronger than the savage. Plus I prefer the layout on the lst than the savage. I have the flm kit and it is nice, but I prefer the simplicity of esc brakes and reverse. The MMM has no issue running the hacker c50 xl and the 1521, so I see no need for multi speed trannys and mech brakes, especially for 40mph.
The erevo is pretty good too, better than a stock maxx, but not as beefy as the lst. Lst diffs and the al cases are great, easy to shim and about the best thing I have seen in a monster truck.
Make sure you get the lst2 arms hubs and driveshafts. All of the other variants have the weaker lst1 parts. Or get a muggy, those are good too.

+1. I own a Muggy and it's a TON better than my old Revo. At least it can handle my 1515 without blowing diff gears  Get the RPM LST arms with the LST2/Mug adapters and Lunsford turnbuckles and it's a VERY tough truck. I managed to break a front spindle on mine and replaced it with an aluminum GH one (probably going to break the C-blocks now  ). So far an ace in my book.
All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

imo this is a trade off. hard bashing and easy on the wallet seems to be mutually exclusive.
however. savages build properly are quite tough when it comes to jumping and the like. i do not own a lst but most of what i read is positive.
imo a multiple speed tranny is not going to hold up long with serious brushless power.
for jumping etc also a lcg is not indicated. for doing backflips and things you may want a "higher" cg. quite different needs than for racing.

Im not really to into the muggy either, I really wanted one a while back but never had the drive to build it. Its a cool car, but im not much of a losi fan

Im just more so asking for a truck that lasts. I always have wanted a savage because of how big they are, just never knew how strong they are. I know bashing takes a toll on parts, and thats more then fine. I just dont want a car that has plastic parts that break by looking at it mean you know?
No one so far has had power with the tranny. FLM only makes the LCG chassis (which is still way more GC then something like a revo, or muggy, or what ever. Especially with the XL terra pin tires. Plus it will drive better, which is nice for a giant truck

Yup, I am building one...but chose it because of recommendation from several friends who beat the snot out of theirs (in nitro form), and they just don't break. They handle pretty decently too for a RWD truck, though I can't say how well they can put down BL power. Here's the link with a bunch of pics:

As you can see, they're just *built*. 4mm 6082 chassis, 6mm stainless rollbar, massive suspension components (the wishbones are 10mm thick at their thickest point), layer upon layer of carbon-fibreglass composite for the shock towers, M4/M5 hardware, all steel gears apart from the spur (with a massive steel ball diff), massive bearings...it's ridiculously beefy (though slightly smaller than a Savage). Wheel options are limited as of stock because of the usual fitting, but you can get 23mm adaptors. Battery fitment could also be tricky, though I've sorted that out for mine. Just do a search on YouTube, and you'll find a bunch of vids of nitro Havocs. It's even marketed as a "Stunt Truck".
Sorry, I don't mean to hi-jack your thread in any way! I do think the Havoc could be an good choice for your application, though.

Whats the wheel base on that sucker? Batt fitting looks a little cramped, maybe saddle packs?

Thanks. :-) Wheelbase is 12.1", so on the shorter side of things...but that apparently makes it more reponsive in the air.
Battery fitment is tricky, but what I've come up with is to use a big, single 5 (or 6)-cell Elite 5000mah 35C LiPo in a custom RC-M battery tray, across the chassis in front of the rollbar and motor. I'm still waiting on funds to complete it, so I can't tell you how it runs unfortunately.
That pack is just the right kind of dimensions to fit without the battery tray showing over the edge of the chassis by much. I'll then just have the steering servo mounted "across" the chassis just in front of the battery, and hooked up to the bellcrank. There are pics of my motor mount design in that thread somewhere; maybe you could do something similar.
