Post pics of your electric crt.5!!!! Also your BL setup! -
11.19.2008, 11:50 PM
I am debating on tires for the crt.5 so I would appreciate a few pictures of your setups! Maybe one body on, one body off and one next to your other rc's?
I will add mine once I get the 17mm adaptors figured out and actually get to run the thing! ( still waiting to order parts..).
Also.. if your on brushless post your motor/controller/batt/gearing. If you know top speed and run time that would be cool :)
I will have mine done in a couple weeks so will add pics/info then. Planning on VXL motor, MM controller on 3s 5000 with varying tires, starting with 11 tooth pinion to see where I stand on gearing.

I would post pics but you can't post duplicate pics. I have many different pics of my crt.5 on here. Pics with slash tires, anacondas, bowties, body on, body off, next to my Revo and I think maybe even one next to my old rustler vxl. I started a thread on here for crt.5 comparrison shots cause so many wanted to see the size difference as did I when I was getting ready to do my build. I run a Medusa 36-50-4800/MM on a 2s lipo with gearing for close to 40MPH. I change the gearing depending on the tires I'm running but generally a 15t with slash tires for bashing, the same 15t with stock bowties yields slower speeds that are prolly decent for a tighter track. If you don't already have the vxl motor save up and get a 3300kv Medusa. Much higher quality motor and it will run a LOT cooler especially on 3s than the vxl motor. My vxl rustler geared for 42 on 2s ran extremely hot, where as my Medusa hasn't hit 130* even if I do back to back runs.

Here is the 2nd one. These are pics my buddy took at his house, so its been a while since it was last updated. I need to snap some pics, its right next to me at the moment. The drive line is all done, motor mount is ready to be cut and cleaned up, has a wing, and a few other things
Set up in this one is a KD out runner, 770KV, 4s zippy lipo, side winder esc (with CC BEC) KO 2174 servo.
And then pretty much everything but the diffs have been modded, or changed from stock. And I mean no joke, pretty much the only things unchanged!

May I ask why the front driveshaft is not installed? Also, are you going to replace that motor mount with a noral centre differential mount?

That's the original setup, a 3100kv LMT 1920 on 3 and 4S 2100/2500 packs.
Now I have a Medusa 2200 50mm motor on 4S and that is wicked also. Does about 50mph or so on 4S, using the Neu 2500 pack, and also 4S 2100 Zippy's. Will do a standing backflip easy. I like this setup, small and light and fits on the OEM ext chassis. Also updated is the big bore shock mod. Essential. Very fun little trug, and wicked fast. Very fun in a parking lot w/ buggy tires to really practice driving, but will bash pretty well w/ the mashers. I don't launch it off cliffs, but its been very tough. 1Mx more durable than a little T4 or other 1/10 stadium truck. Fun on the 1/8th scale tracks as well. Short wheelbase is less forgiving than a big 1/8, but forces you to drive better.
4S on the LMT was out of control. Easily 60 mph if I could keep the front down.
60 mph video.

Almost forgot... there can't be too many of these running around.
This is my cr.5 buggy that I did earlier this year for fun. It runs better than any 1/10th buggy I've ever bought. With mike's ext chassis, it can be close to full 1/10th scale.

What buggy body did you use ?
I'd like to find a buggy body for the Ofna extended chassis.
Ideas are welcome.
