Not yet, got one of the 1/4 scale servos on, and had to fix a friends ax-10. Then we had to test it... So I crawled all afternoon. It was a nice day, beautiful weather. Then he broke his crawler again, HAHAHA...

I have a nice axi outrunner, and a dewalt 820 to try. I will do the axi first, as it will bolt up. The dewalt motor has something like 32-35mm bolt pattern, so I will have to make a new motor plate. So I may do that after I swap the 3905 tranny with the wide ratio gearset.

True. I will give it a try, but the 2 550 motors do not have enough power IMO... Maybe the dewalt 820 will do it?

Does that 820 have more torque than both 550's? I'd believe it if you said so... If that works out then you'll have to put the second 820 on the front tranny to keep the balance.

I have a feeling it will be more powerful. 550 motors are good for about 250 watts maxx each. The dewalt is said to be able to do 1.5hp. Not sure if it will do that on 4s, but I have a feeling it will beat 500 watts easily, and make more torque too.

The rear tranny is just to hold the lower shaft. It does not have any gears or internals. I plan to cut the top off the tranny, just above the mount area, and place a flat plate over it to seal it up.

To make this creation crawl better I will have all of the equipment on the front chassis. Only the rear servo will be on the back. With the lipos on the rear chassis it does not like to climb and break-over ledges as well as I would like. Shifting the weight to the front should help, but I doubt it will wheely...

With a 1521 1y on 6s I am sure I could get it to lift the tires, diffs might crap out though!

I do plan to make a tsr style 6x6 with a bpp chassis and the rear wheels close together. It will have lst diffs and will be setup with 6s and a large motor, most likely a kb45 xl motor. (I have a few laying around). That truck will wheely, I promise!!!

Remember that Bond movie....I think it was "Tomorrow Never Dies", where he made a semi truck wheelie, and the front end pivoted around the middle axle?? That's what I just pictured in my head when you mentioned that other project!

I remember, what a crock of shit there. It would take 5k+ hp to get a semi to wheely...but it would be cool to see, that is for sure! I won't have a pivoting frame, so it will have to ride the rear most set of wheels. Should make for a good vid,huh?

Yup thats it, one of the timothy dalton movies. He was my least favorite bond actors. I cannot decide if i prefer connery or moore, but I think it was moore. He always seemed like the ultimate pimp... Never got dirty or sweaty and aleways had a smart ass comment to make!

Still working on the truck, should have some progress pics by midweek. Everyone (especially Neil) will be happy that the red chassis is gone...

Figured out how to fit the 1/4 scale servos in, took a bit of "trimming" to make them fit. I looked at possibly making a mount for the 3905 tranny and think it is possible. I will investigate that some more. I think the axi motor will go in with the current trans and we will see how it does...
