hello, I have ordered the esc for my e-maxx, the configuration is:
esc: Mamba Monster Max V3
motor: Medusa 60mm 1600kv
batt: 2x zippi 3s 5000mha 20c-30c in serie
chasis: fml extended
sleeper robinson 72t
pinion 17t
receptor: spectrum pro

is it good configuration??? How much autonomy will I get??

Regards

Hi Jalodo,

You've chosen some very good parts to put into your E maxx. Sounds like it's going to be a great build.

There is a sticky at the top of the Brushless forum called Speed Calculator. With it, you can figure gearing for just about anything. A Very smart man named Brian, came up with it for us all to use.

I plugged your information into it and here's what it had to say.

Differential Ratio: 2.8461538461538462
Transmission Ratio: 1.8333333333333334
Other Ratio: 1
Spur Tooth Count: 72
Pinion Tooth Count: 17
Total Voltage: 22.2
Motor KV: 1600
Tire Diameter (inches): 5.75
Tire Ballooning (inches): 0
Motor Current Draw: 0
Motor coil Ω: 0
Spur/Pinion Ratio: 4.24 : 1
Total Ratio: 22.09955 : 1
Tire Circumference (inches): 18.06 inches (458.83 mm)
Total Motor Speed: 35520 RPM
Vehicle Speed: 27.49 mph (44.17 km/h)
Estimated Adjusted Speed: 27 mph (43 km/h) - 3% loss
Effective KV Value: 1600

In my opinion, this setup is undergeared.

I am currently running a MMM and the Medusa 36-60-1500kv with 18/40 gearing in an E Revo. It does well on 4S, 5S, or 6S. On 6S, it will get a little warm. That's why I have a heat sink/fan on the motor.

I hope this helps.

ok, but my tires are more bigger than the e-maxx origin, is the ballooning determined in speed?

Ballooning isn't figured in unless you enter it in the Ballooning slot. How you gear it depends on the finished weight of it also and how you intend to run it.

A lower geared setup will pull less amps and give you more runtime.

I get about 25 minutes runtime from my setup on 4S 5000mah 20C Lipo.

Are you going to run stock diffs? If you are, you may want to upgrade them next as well as some stronger bulks...if you are looking to upgrade, send me a pm..

I would ask what wheels/ tires you have or just their diameter in inches, then we'd be better able to recommend a final gear ratio- 17/72 is very under geared at any rate, you should be looking at something more like 20-24/72, but that all depends..

Cetainly- will be a handful, and keep an eye on temps (motor/esc/lipos), but 54/24 will net you exactly 52mph. Thats using the Jato3.3 spur gear on the 3905 transmission- direct fit. Im assuming that the motor wont hit the tranny before the spur and pinion mesh, but I think it should okay.
