I have a 1521/1Y in my BPP truggy and it works very good with 6S and 5S. It's more motor then you need though. A 1515 for a truggy is plenty and I have a 1515/2Y in my MBX5T truggy running 8S lipos and it's just a torque monster.

I had 2 C50 10XL motors at one point. They are for sure good motors, but the Neu is better IMO. They just run a little cooler than the Hackers and are cheaper too. If you truly want German engineering in your motor find yourself a Lehner 1940 or 1950 motor. They are still the best motors around IMO. Downsides are, really hard to get on this side of the Atlantic, expensive, and service sucks if you need anything repaired or parts for the motor. I have a few of the Lehners and totally love them, but for the reasons above doubt I will ever purchase another one.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Ok, I have had all of the above... The c50 motors are very nicely made, but a bit big in diameter.

A hacker c50 L can motor is a great buggy motor, or in a corr style truck. Not really enough motor for a truggy or monster truck due to the heavier wheels/tires. Bit more powerful than a neu 1512, but very close.

The hacker c50 xl motors make alot of power. More powerful than a 1515, IMO. I run a 11xl on a lst with a MMM and 6s lipo and it has no lack of power.

Price is a concern, but used hacker c50 motors often go for less than a used neu... Plus the hackers are 2 pole and the neu is 4 pole, so a different "feel" to each. Neus are more torquey for the weight, but I just like how a 2 pole motor coasts of power.

If you are buying a new motor, buy the Neu, or if the castle neu will fit the bill go with that. The medusa motors are a great value too.

I have 1 c50 maxx, 4 c50 L cans and 2 c50 xl motors. I really like them, and paid about $650 for all of them...lightly used. I do have a 1521 that I plan to try out, and I think it will make more power than the c50 xl. So far neu and hacker c50 are my favorite motors. I will give the castle neu a try when they get cheaper/more abundant.
