Yes, either would work on the Inferno GT or GT2. :)

this car comes w/ 2 speed. Do I have to take out the 2 speed? This would make the shaft longer or shorter? thanks..

http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...adapter&cat=40 - 2 speed adapter
http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...ears1st&cat=40 - 1st speed
http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...peed2nd&cat=40 - 2nd speed

With the above parts and a brake servo mount(I have one, though it doesn't currently show on the site), you can maintain the 2 speed and run mechanical brakes. You could also drop in a center diff and use esc braking if you wanted to simplify the conversion. :)

The adapter is showing out of stock. Any idea when it might be available again?

But it will make cool shifty noises and most likely cause the car to do really sweet sideways drifts when 2nd gear kicks in under full throttle!

I can say that Mike's 2 speed adapter is very nicely made and will work great on a 2 speed conversion like yours. I have a hb 2 speed car in the works and I plan to run his adapter. I have used it for mock up purposes and the fit and alignment is perfect.

Only issue with novak's conversion is that you have to use a novak hv motor (may not be enough motor for your intended gearing/speed), and I dislike the battery trays. My advise would be to stick with mike's parts, your finished product will be alot better with his stuff. Plus all of us here can help you along the way!

thanks for the help guys..

here is my proposed set up

Mamba Max. 1/10 scale esc
Neu 1512 2.5D/F motor
hyperion 5S 4800 20C lipo
futaba 4pk 2.4
stock servos..

of course RCM converion kit.

What else?

BTW, what is the best onroad conversion kit? I would want to go for 1/8 scale.

Go with the MMM for 5s useage. You would need to mod the MM to run 5s, and even then it is not gauranteed to work. Plus once you buy the ubec and cap for the mm it is almost cheaper to buy the MMM.

As for 1/8 scale on road, the Ofna dm-1 is very nice, but pricey. Many really like the ofna gtp, I have 2 and they are great vehicles for on road, and cheap too. The kyosho inferno is popular, but parts are harder to get (AMain hobbies is the best bet). There are a few other buggy based 1/8 scale on roads, but the ofna and kyosho are the most popular.
