Redline Sensored Motor Ratings - 12.19.2008, 09:28 AM

Anyone have a chart of a comparison between the Tekin Sensored motors to see their equivalent to brushed motors?

Like what motor would equivalent to a 15T modified brushed motor?

That'll be a no then. I think there are just far too many possible variations of brushed and Bl motors to draw up a comparsion chart.

I'll tell you this much though- one hvmaxx 6.5 motor is roughly equal to a pair of 21turn 550 brushed motors...

Thanks for the reply neil. I was just looking for a Tekin combo that would be perfect in a stadium truck.

they will be real close to what the novak and lrp motors are rated for. if you want something close to a 15t I would go with a 7.5 or 8.5.

roughly the equiv., More like three times the motor of both together. I had a 4400hv, basicly a 6.5 without the sintered rotor, it was in every way better then the titans.

honestly the reason there isn't an equivilent chart, there are so many different motors. I know before the sintered rotors , the 5800 was close to a 19 turn. now there really is no equiv., the torque is too much for all but the handwound brushed to handle

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Cool. Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll start out with a RS 7.5 and work my way from there. Thanks again.

That should get you close to what you want in performance. You will gear it different then a regular brushed motor though. Also on the rs esc if you get a hotwire I would suggest playing with the timing (boost) for sensored mode. It makes a big difference in performance with the newest software 1.89.

I came up with a simple equation for roar legal motors:

Brushled equivalent = 2*(brushless turns) - 2

It's fairly accurate so that a 4.5 would be a 7 turn brushed, a 10.5 would be a 19 turn brushed and a 13.5 is a little better than a stock brushed motor.

Speedy's got a decent way to look at it. For a 15T brushed try the 9.5 or 10.5. The 7.5 is more like a good strong 11T or 10T if setup right.

Stay out of sensored only mode with the 7.5. Run it in dual mode with the Timing advance setup on 50-70 in the speedo.
