GPS recommendations - What do I look for?

Don't know anything about the different GPS systems or what to shop for. Don't even know what would be considered a bell or a whistle. Really just getting it to use with the RC's so what would you recommend? Thanks for the help.

I used the Garmin Etrex gps can usually get them pretty cheap new (under 100.00),works great.

they will all do most anything i can think of, if its just for rc use

max, min, avg, duration, distance, tracking.

not sure what else would be a cool option for rc use

i would think, just get the cheapest one out there, just in case of rollover etc, again if its only for rc use.

If only for rc use I went with the garmin geko 101, you would never want to be lost in the woods with it, but its a waterproof GPS for around $30 perfect for checking rc speeds etc Ive flipped my trucks over 50mph sent this thing flying down the street a good 20 times and it still ticks http://catalog.ebay.com/Garmin-Geko-...86Q2ec0Q2em271

at least you had a way to know you launched it out at 50 mph

I have been using the Garmin Forerunner 101 for a long time now. Works great, is super small and comes with a strap that is meant for your arm, but works great for strapping it onto the truck wing or body mounts.

Highly recomend it and I see it on ebay for under $90 quite often. I think it has been replaced witht he 201 model now but I think they are the same for the most part so either one should be perfect.

Oh yea... It takes a pretty good beating and still works fine. Mine looks like its been though a war. lol

Some of these things nice and expensive. There was like 3000 GPS on ebay, narrowed that down to 890 hand held ones. Gave up on that and went to the Garmin site and got caught up gawking at the $500 plus bells and whistiles. I'll look into the geko 101 sounds like more what I am looking for. Still chuckling about being lost in the woods with a useless GPS.

I found my GPS but really want a Garmin. Strictly a brand name thing I imagine.

Thanks. Wasn't too many Geko to choose from. Watching a couple of the forerunner 101s but never checked Amazon. Will go see whats on there. Thanks Doug.
