What about contact cleaner? That might be better to use than lube.

all I have on hand is an aerosal electronics cleaner/lubricant. Anyway, you can never have too much lube, better slippery than chafed........

LOL. Very true. As long as the cleaner lube is for electrical things it should be fine.
