I just replaced motor with a bigger, but slower one. As son as I get some weather I'll test it. I suspect it'll be fine until I gear it up to start making some speed. It's now geared to match the speed of the small 1500 kv motor.

I'd bet radio interferene. As you go up in voltage there is more electricity so more electrical noise. To diagnose it, move your reciever as far away from everything as possible, andtry again. I just had to learn this the hard way.

New motor 1200 x 56 mm rather than the 50x1500 and the trouble is back again. Exact same trouble when using over 100 ft range.

Now I see sparks intermittently inside the rear of the motor on the bench test . I don't know much about bl motors, but that can't be normal, right? Funny thing is it will do it when starting up , but when running WOT on a bench it'll be perfect with no sparks.
