Why the restrictor plates? Are they uncontrolable with out them?

its part of the competition. Gasoline motors run 20MM and ethanol runs 19MM. Yea they are just stupid fast, starts to hurt your laptime.
Georgia Tech took their restrictor off and tried to race us...they lost....
