looks to me like a 10 car sytem would be about $800?

Interesting. It's a shame that it is not compatible with AMB transponders as many of us use them already. But the $38 price tag for a new transponder compatible with this system is very reasonnable compared to the AMB transponder's price. I wonder if the sensors can only be used on the bridge or if they can be buried.
There's feedback from track owners I think, I haven't read the whole thing, but I would like some feedback from racers who use the transponders of this system. They don't seem to be completely sealed in a hard casing like the AMB. The AMB transponders are very tough and reliable. Anyway, it is interesting.

it's infrared based so sensors need to be above passing cars.
someone should start making some low cost AMB receiver :)
