Quark 125B blown, repairable? - 01.18.2009, 05:51 AM

Hey all was setting up the basic programming on a Quark 125B and in the first mode, it had the one red LED to indicate Fwd / Brake only, went to move the throttle trigger to set it to Delayed Reverse and all of a sudden a pop, smoke out the slide of the ESC.

Lifted the cover and have a nice scorch mark on the lid.

Do I have any options?

Was on a 4s Lipo with a MM 36-60-2000 not geared up at the time.

Not real impressed :(

i personally dont like quark products but that me (to often failures)
and i heard their repair services are not good at all

if it was me i'd toss it a side and get a monster max or mamba max as your on 4s
at least if they fail you can actually get it repaired by someone who cares cc
sorry im not much help

Are the issues with the V1, V2 etc Mamba Monsters now resolved? I too have used Mamba in the past and they have always had awesome CS as well. (Joe's a legend!)

I dislike BEC's / Receiver packs from experience (last UBEC I had did nothing but GLITCH!) so I guess the MM is out of the question.

me i run rx pack with my MM but i have the room
but if you have a good ubec you should not have a problem or you could also use a ferrite ring on it or esc to inhibit some radio interference
yes the issues are fixed but their have been some failures i dont know if they are related check the castle creation thread out

It took me 10 months to get my esc repaired.
I had got my esc reverse-connected and two of the fets were replaced.

Yes well it's starting to show that the customer service nightmares of Quark I heard are true, I think I'll just stuff it and get a MMM and be done with it!

I am running one of the V3 units and have had some pretty good luck. I, like otherse had a failed V2 and they replaced it with the V3. I now have about 15 runs on it anywhere from 3 minutes to 10 minutes each without a problem. I would highly recommend. On 4S and a 7XL its been a solid setup with more than enough power to make my emaxx reliable and fast.

I sent mine off to korea and never heard back from them again. I got 2 warranty claims before they moved out of the US and they were very good. It was around a weeks and a half turnaround time for me.
