hv 6.5 throttle position - 12.18.2008, 09:13 PM

so it finally snows, and i rebuild my emaxx w hv esc w/6.5 motor. when i reprogram the esc, it thinks full finger pull is full reverse. when i flip the throttle channel and reprogram, same results full finger pull is full reverse. i then set it up so, reverse was 25% and i cant seem to get forward movement with a finger pull. if i flip the throttle channel after the program the truck moves and with throttle trim i cant get it to stop
arggggh
any ideas i know this has worked before this is my old setup

also hyperion eos0610i users, what charge cycle do you use and why linear normal automatic?
thanks

Sounds like you need to switch your throttle servo on the transmitter, rather than on the ESC. I had to do that with mine, and so did everyone else I know that has used them.

could i have both diffs flipped causing the reverse direction?

also does it matter what way the gears turn for forward movement; basically if you ran a piece of paper through the gears (pinion and spur) would it get spit out the top or be going towards the truck on an emaxx
thanks

No it shouldn't matter. If you flipped them both (your lucky) it would run the opposite direction with the same motor rotation direction. If that was the case just reverse any two motor wires. But IDK that much about Novak sensor systems.

Can't simply swap motor wires on a sensored system. I would say the problem is the flipped diffs. Simply flip them...

ok problem was 2 flipped diffs.... so are hv 6.5 esc directional? it only wanted forward to be one specific way; i thought you could easily flip it with the channel but that did nothing good the truck would always move if i flipped the chanel after the program

if you have flipped the diffs in wrong direction that causes ur prob...or maybe u have program ur esc in wrong setting... first thing is connect batt on esc make sure its off then press the black button on ur esc then switch it on, at this state motor wont run then pull the tx trigger you can see the led blinks then push the trigger and ur esc is good after that unplugged the esc wire on to the rx then press again the button in ur esc u will see that every led lits up as soon as all led lights up press again the esc button twice then u will see all led blinks twice now ur on profile #2 w/c is 50% forward and 50% reverse then ur good to go hope this helps...

I had the same issue recently with my flm HV Maxx. Wasn't the diffs that were flipped it was the transmission was installed backwards. Mine was a little more obvious. Going forward made the maxx go forward but it wasn't as fast as normal and the brakes were instant reverse as fast a forward was normally. Like coming back right at you jump out of it way fast. But I couldn't hit the brakes when it shot past me into the fridge because pushing forward made it go faster.

when you say "installed trans backwards" do you mean the gears or the mounting into the chassis? i was not aware if you could install the gears backwards, if that was the case.

What kind of radio are you using????
My spektrum needed to be set back to "factory" as I had similar problems.

I had this issue whith my G2R HV 4.5 setup. I went as far as contacting Novak. The esc is directional because of the sensor. You can't switch wires around like you can with a sensor-less system. In my case it the transmission was mounted backwards. I bought it as a roller and had never had an E-MT before so I wasn't familiar with which way the motors normally faced. Flipping the tranny or both diffs is the only way to solve this problem. There are no radio tricks or flipping of switches that will fix this!

It was mounted into the chassis backwards.

You guys have "no idea" how many times I have seen the "flipped diffs" or "backwards Tranny" problem.

The motor's normal forward is "counter clockwise" in case it comes up again. :)
