Need to send in a MMM for upgrade, and other ?s - 01.27.2009, 11:31 AM

Hey Castle team, have a few questions.

First I have a v1 and a v2 MMM that I would like upgraded to V3 with the new case, etc. Do I have to fill out any specific paperwork to send them in for upgrade? I have waited till now to let the preorders and stock issue clear up, did not want to be a burden!

Also I have a new sidewinder that will not recognize castle link, What do I have to do to send that in? Fill out a form? It has been a while since I had to return anything to you guys. I tried to call tech, but was on hold for 20+ mins and then the system hung up on me after talking with Brian for a minute or two...

Thanks for the help!

There is now an online form - you basically complete a blank purchase order...

tada...

Thanks chris...

It is a bit long winded, especially having to do this 3 times... And I will not provide any credit card info, as none of the stuff I am sending is damaged due to my fault...

I had to do it for my modded MM v2 that died - it was replaced free with no charge and a nice note saying if I hackes with a V3 then pay up :)

Ok, I went thru the form 3 times for the 3 escs and printed the confirmation receipts. Time to box em up and ship em out. Should I bother including the factory boxes, or can I just wrap em em in bubble wrap and ship em that way?

I always use the factory boxes so all is kosher, but if it's packed well, I don't think CC would care.

Sounds good, I will skip the factory boxes, as I am sure that they do not need the manual and cd for repairs...

Looks like my revo and lst will be sitting for a few... Just glad that CC will do the upgrade!

Hold on linc, I can probably help you with your sidewinder. I have also bought a sidewinder that could not be recognized by castlelink 3.12. It turned out it has firmware 1.15. You need to use castlelink 3.05 to upgrade it first to 1.17 then use castlelink 3.12 to upgrade it 1.20.

Damn... I sent the sidewinder in with 2 MMMs... I guess they will be able to figure it out. Ifthey try to charge me I will definately tell them to send it back to me and i will give your idea a try. I wish the tech guy had not hung up on me, I am sure he would have tried that eventually... Oh well, thanks for the help!
