Spektrum\Horizon Hobby Repair - 02.04.2009, 03:28 PM

i have a DX2 radio that fell of a work bench.. I was wondering if it is worth sending in to get it fixed.. everything works it is just being held together with tape. Has anyone sent there radios in for repair? is it cheaper to go buy a new one? Maybe spektrum will do the buy one get one free promotion..

Which part broke?
Mine also fell off a bench and broke the antenna mount - which I knew I could fix. But the cord had pulled out, and I didnt know what to do. I called Spektrum, and the tech was adamant that I not open it up to fix it, citing that it was too technical to allow users to fix on their own. I opened it up anyway, and the cord had just popped out of its plug - its worked fine since. I can't remember how much he told me it would cost to fix, but it was in the 50 dollar range. I'd say, try to fix it yourself.

IIRC they do sell the radio cases... You may be able to buy one and just swap out the guts. Or take it apart and use some thin ca to stick it back together (thats the pimp way)...

It broke the bottom of the radio off.. and broke it into a couple of pieces. It probably just worth keeping as a backup.. I wanted to get it fixed so I could sell one of them and get a remote that could handle more than 2 cars..

I could plastic weld it back together for you... You would have to send it to me though. This would work as long as you have all of the pieces...

That was a common issue on the earlier ones, I thought they had fixed that with a firmware upgrade.
