I am far from a machinist but I just wanted to share how I mounted my V3 and switch. I used a thin piece of aluminum after using cardboard as a template. The wife came out a few times after hearing various power tools wondering what I was doing at 2 a.m.

I angle the ESC so that it did not stick out and also because I preferrred the look that way. If anyone needs more specific pics let me know. The tranny is setup as single speed with steel idler but I wanted to leave the stock case to see if I like this esc placement/support.

Way cool! Been looking for a solution myself. Any chance you could take a few more pictures from the side that the ESC is mounted on? Or a shot with the plate mounted but not the ESC?

Sure, no problem. I used velcro "industrial" to secure it. I love the stuff, it holds great. By bolting it in the stock motor holes it allows it to rotate to your liking.

Thanks man! So you kept the stock motor mount and attached your ESC plate to the 2nd motor location? That is awesome! Nice work!

Yep, that is exactly what I did. I ran the exact same setup on an emaxx with my first BL setup back in 2003 and beat the crap out of it and it never came loose or suffered damage and that thing went end over end MANY times!

That sure is a nice esc mount. Just one thing, turn the esc around and cut the motor wires shorter. Would be much cleaner look. But that just me

Though it looks very nice now too.

I was told to never cut the motor wires sorter. Was I told wrong?

Hmph, who told you that? If the motor has stiff wires like bk/feigao etc. cheap style motors. Then it's nono.
But in castles neu motors have the noodle wires. IIRC the castle recommend to cut the wires for your needs. Even I did in my g2r. You can look my thread its somewhere here..

Anybody correct me if im wrong..

If the wires length won't bother you, then dont cut 'em. Long wires are good for future purposis, if you wan't to use your system in some other car where you would like to have longer wires. Example you don't have room to mount the esc and motor close each others..

Shorter wires goods are then neater look, interial resistance decrease and the wires won't wobble in the car while running which can cause the plugs disconnection...
