I think its time to send the Mamba Max back tho cc. - 02.11.2009, 12:01 AM

The other day when I was running my truck it just stopped and now it doesn't move. It just shudders and goes back and forth. Do I need to send it back? I just replaced the dean, but i haven't tried it yet. I will and report back. Do you think this could have been the problem?

Could be a bad connection on the motor side of the esc or a bad motor.

It sounds like you demagnatized the motor. If you take the pinon off will the motor spin freely?

Sounds like a dodgy solder joint to me, so I'd check all your motor lead joints as well as the battery plug like you said. It's worth checking the motor itself too.

Don't send it back to CC until you've exhausted every possibility though. It'd be really annoying if all it turned out to be was a solder joint or something that could be fixed in 5 mins.

I guess I hadn't ever thought about the motors bullets. I looked at them and they were almost falling off. The problem is I can't get any solder to stick to the wires. I will go to my buddy's house today or tomorrow and try one of his motors to see if it still works right.

Use decent 60/40 solder and flux... And a good, hot iron. The flux cleans the wire and helps the solder stick to it. I usually skip the motor to esc bullets, as most of them will eventually cause problems. The big CC bullets work well, but the smaller ones on the mm are questionable...

well bad news I think. When I plug it into the computer no lights turn on and the cc software does not reconize it. I am going to send it back today or tomorrow.

Would the switch do that? It doesn't even link to the computer.
