Continued trouble w/my castle link... -
02.13.2009, 04:41 PM
I had the castlelink v3.05 on my computer saved. I did notice that the disk had the year 2007 on it and my other discs had 2008 on them. So I uninstalled the program and reinstalled using the new disc and now it will not save it..odd. I am using vista and as stated, I had the programmed saved already.
This all came about from needing to update to v3.12. Every time I linked w/the esc a message would pop up saying that this version is not able to automatically check for up dates. So, I tried to download right from castle the newest version w/the programmed still saved on my computer...a no go... Next, I uninstalled v 3.05 and tried to reinstall it using a newer disc. It would load into the computer, but not save it. Now, as you all know I had to click run as admin. to make this work as I have done before w/no probs. I
When installing, I get the message that there is a problem and the file cannot open...I then go to the castle icon and click run as admin and it runs. As soon as I close everything out, it won't save it
I have 4 castle link discs and have tried them all w/out success. I am wondering if my new virus protection is somehow inter-upting something?
Once the castle link program is open, I can use it, but it requires me to use the disk every time and I cannot get the updates I want....any ideas?

Update...I got the download directly from castle to work, but, when I hook up the controller w/the program it reads "invalid controller.. you may have software that is newer than what is on your computer....uninstall and reinstall latest version from castle"
Well, I did what they said and still nothing...the program will open, the red lights turn green and then the warning comes up....any other ideas?

Anyone have any ideas....I sent a e-mail to castle last night so we'll see when they respond. This is really bad timing...I was planning on running this weekend w/my daughter and really need to readjust the controllers.

What ESC are you trying to get to? I believe the MM will not work in vista.

I finally got v 3.05 to stay in the computer and work! Now, when I download the new v 3.12 and try to link w/the esc it says invalid controller. At least I can adjust the esc.
I am trying to link to the mm esc. I had v 3.05 working before, but, when I went to upgrade, that is when the trouble started

Might have helped if you had posted this in the correct forum - they probably don't monitor this one.
Can you adjust the controllers manually instead?

I tried that 4 times, w/no luck! That what's was so frustrating to me. I have upgraded to the newer versions 2 other times via Castle's site w/no probs.
For now, I can at least change settings on the esc.
