Nice looking truck. I will have to say that the tranny will not hold up to a 1521 for long...

As for the mod1 gearing larger than 25t. You can buy a colleted pinion adapter from tdr racing, and use losi 2nd gear pinions from the lst2. Mike also sells pinions that will fit ,for his 2 speed adapter, but that adapter can only really be run forwards as it has no method to lock the gears on. The tdr adpter does lock them on, so you can use brakes and reverse. Gears up to 30t are available, and Mikes are hardened. Some of the losi gears are al, which is fine to use on a plastic spur, although I still prefer steel.
