Is the revo any better than the e-maxx in general? I might take one to turn it in to a brushless truck. But I guess the E-maxx is still the most popular nowadays. Any way, what do you think?

I do not have one ther captian. The suspension is a little more advanced and may do better with out putting more money in.

i loved my cardboard e-revo, and i'll love it with alminum too. Great car all around. teh supsension is insane and if u decide to race, it'll be perfect too. My e-revo is tough. I take it off 5 ft jumps with it go 10ft in air and landign with no problem. lol, ironic consideirng how i break parts on tiny doubles at my track.

I'm going to set up my revo with the stock titans first. I want to have a good baseline for what I've got. My B'in law has a new Emaxx, so we'll be able to see for sure.
But my experience from owning both, is that the Revo handles MUCH better in stock form. I dont really know anything about tuning the suspension yet, so I havent even toyed with the potential of the Revos handling.

The man to ask captain is mike. He has a emaxx and a gevo. He can tell you about the pros and cons of both. I can say this form talking to mike. He loves his emaxx. I think he told me he has like 4 of them. I will agree with him to. I have a couple as well and love the way they handle. It is well above stock handling.

the revo all the way. its alot more durable in stock form and handles much better.when racing, its like night and day.

I also thought the revo is good all over specially the light weight of this truck, but it seems that most people are leaning towards the e-maxx more because of all the hop-ups it has. Its really puzzling, and these projects are very costy, too. I better be decisive.

Mike posted previously to say his current favorite truck was the E-Maxx (well hopped-up, of course) over the G2R Revo, but he did say that he expected the G2R to become his race truck once he got more used to it.

The G2r is awesome, but it simply isn't my $3k e-maxx! Stock vs. stock, the G2r is the clear winner, however, my e-maxx only has the stock input shaft, output gear/shaft and a couple rod ends(far from stock!). I am simply more comfortable with my e-maxx at the moment, and it is easier to mount the electronics on it. The G2R handles just as well with a near stock setup, but there simply isn't as many hopups for it yet, and I haven't got enough "wheel time" to choose this over my g-maxx truck. Next season, the G2R will likely be my race truck, though, with the e-maxx serving as backup( this will allow me to dial it in). Basically, either truck is worthy!

Will the 6 spyder gears fit the revo? can I use a single speed tranny as well?

The 6 spyder diffs won't fit the stock revo bulkheads, as far as I know (assuming you're speaking of 8th scale buggy size diffs)
But we hope to see a bulkless conversion for the Revo one day.

I have both -- a full Supermaxx Emaxx BL with single speed conversion and a stock Revo with the TRX 2.5R.

I really like them both, but they are quite different. If I had to do it over now with my money I'd probably just get the Revo. I've spent way too much on my Emaxx getting it to where it is, but the one you saw on Ebay is a much better deal than I got.

But since I did spend all that $$ and could never get it all back selling it, I have fun running it. For the $1500 or so on that Ebay Supermaxx you could have one nice Revo, or almost 3 for that matter!!:L:

When I bought my Emaxx there were no other options, and it desperately needed hopups from stock. The Revo out of the box really needs no modifications at all, except maybe a better radio and steering servo.

If money isn't a problem, I'd do what I did and get both!:p
