Talking e-maxx redneck mods - 03.07.2009, 01:57 PM

I got a 100% bone stock 16.8v 3905 e-maxx in a trade I worked on it today for fun trying to save weight and installing my brushless setup on it there is a picture of my redneck mods

like you can see I have removed 4 shocks.. I using 2 axial rock crawler grey firm spring on front and rear with 60wt oil into it and keep 2 stock e-maxx spring with stock shock oil in it ( 30wt ) since I dont have four axial firm spring for now look like work better then four stock e-maxx spring but need other same firms axial spring for replace the red one.. and I removed the battery tray bracket and support and receiver box , front and rear bumper , and some others small parts im pretty sure I have saved a good 1lbs more of parts... I removed one servo also and the servo tie rod .. removed the spur gear cover too since it is 32p and not easy broke like 48p and spur gear cost nothing to buy.... I have heard I can do some other free mods like this for save other weight about the tranny removing the parts for the 2nd gear I think... I drilled 3 1/8 holes in each tires for let air in and out... if you got some others let me know!

the truck setup is :

Differential Ratio: 2.8461538461538463
Transmission Ratio: 1.8333333333333335
Other Ratio: 1
Spur Tooth Count: 58
Pinion Tooth Count: 19
Total Voltage: 14.4
Motor KV: 2084
Tire Diameter (inches): 5.75
Tire Ballooning (inches): 0
Motor Current Draw: 0
Motor coil Ω: 0
Spur/Pinion Ratio: 3.05 : 1
Total Ratio: 15.92848 : 1
Tire Circumference (inches): 18.06 inches (458.83 mm)
Total Motor Speed: 30009.6 RPM
Vehicle Speed: 32.23 mph (51.77 km/h)
Effective KV Value: 2084
KT constant: 0.65 oz-in/A
Motor Torque: Amperage not specified...
Final Torque: Amperage not specified...
Final Power: Amperage not specified...

I used a 58t jato mod 0.8 and fit directly on the slipper thing..
for motor I would use a feigao 540c 8xl finned can with a mamba max esc and 12 cells nimh... I dont plan invest alot on this its only for fun...

Your biggest weight savings can be in the tires. For a redneck mod shave off ever other tread. tempted (not calling you a redneck ) did this on some 3906 tires IIRC.

these one :

I used 60wt team associated shock fluid on all corners too.

do ya think it will work well with this shock springs setup ? I dont have my motor right now so I cant really get a test run..

haa, why are the shocks in a 'diagonal formation'? lol

wouldnt it be better if the fronts were all the way up front and the rears all the way back? lol

revo = indectructable - disturbed. LOL

It will work with a few mods. Open the center hole up with a reamer to match the slipper bearing. and you will also have to open up 3 of te smaller holes to fit over the slipper screw vosses so that the spur will fit flat on the slipper. Really easy, will take you 1-2 minutes, max.

It should fit, as the 52t supr is larger in diameter than a 52t 32p spur would be. Your gearing will be higher, so the truck will be faster.
