Mod1 spur to New Emaxx trans - 03.08.2009, 11:49 AM

I have a brushless monster truck that currently uses a first gen Emaxx tranny with Mod1 spur, but I have chance to get a New Emaxx brushless ready tranny. I would like to keep my Mod1 setup. I have dozens of Mod1 pinions for my RC collection and really dont want to have to buy more for the New Emaxx spur. Is it possible to mount my spur on this New trans? Thanks

I don't really remember what the spur on the older e-maxxes look like, but on everything I have that has the revo spec slipper like the 3905 e-maxx I run monster gt spurs. You just have to enlarge the center hole a bit for the bearing, and enlarge 3 of the slipper peg holes for the slipper back plate to slip through. About 2 minutes worth of modding and it drops right on, you can get them on 46-52 tooth for 4/5 bucks each.

A junkman said... I swap the 5x11 slipper bearing to a 5x10 bearing, that way you only have to open up the center hold of the mgt spur slightly, much less chance of getting it out of round that way.

Im running the Robinson Racing MGT 52t spur with slipper disc's not pegs. In this case, do I just enlarge the bearing hole and thats it?

If you do not enlarge 3 of the small peg holes the spur will not fit flush with the front of the slipper. This is very obvious when you put them together, give it a try...

I think he's talking old style E maxx James(linc)

Those use the hex shaft instead of the revo style slipper

I apologize for not being clear in my original post. I want to use the ENTIRE Robinson Racing slipper setup: the aluminum disc's and slipper pads as well as the spur gear. You are correct sikeston, it has the hex mounting center.
