This is true. I have had varying success with their electric tools. I have an 18v cordless drill that works like a champ, but I also have a sawzall that blows...

Their air tools are a great deal for someone who does not use them every day. I own a auto body shop, and we can wear an airtool out quickly. I just buy the cheap ones and replace every year or so. For a home user they would last forever...

I usually buy all the little one use tools. Stuff you may never need, but if you have it you will use it. Those things are so cheap that if they break you just toss them in the trash.

I bought their Hakko looking soldiering station. I can't get it to get hot enough to melt solder!

I have a few things from HF. Mostly hand tools like screwdrivers, pliers, sandpaper, etc. It's good stuff for the most part.
