With 99% of outrunners you can slide the shaft through. There is a grub screw that holds the shaft onto the can. If you take apart an outrunner, you will have 3 main parts. The bell (rotor) with the magnets, the windings (stator), and the shaft comes all the way out too. Outrunners are like this not only because it is the easiest way to assemble them, but in planes it can vary which end the shaft sticks out of.

Hobbycity has really cheap outrunners that work. I have one in my crt .5. It's a blast and I would recommend the specific brand of motor I got from hobbycity. I don't know much about the other ones, but read the reviews. They should all be pretty good.
