1/8 buggy adaptors = fail :( Want 30 series now. Need offset ideas - 03.24.2009, 04:26 PM

I wanted to run 1/8 buggy tires on my crt.5 and contacted Rob Forsberg @ wheel extensions to get started. I sent a complete hub setup with axle for him to take measurements. He never made any before so sent me some rustler ones for me to try. They needed a bit of adjustment so I sent the adaptors back with my hubs/driveshaft and axle pins/hexes. This was about 4 months ago! About 2 months ago he flat out tells me he lost the parts. Then he sends me someone ELSES parts. I asked if I need to send them to someone else and he claimed "Those were junk parts out of my parts bin" ??? LOL...

He kept giving me the run around... The bottom line is his adaptors work just fine but the pins he provides ( longer to go through the adaptor) are just SLIGHTLY too large to fit into the crt.5 axle. He got all heated about it saying he will not sell a product that wont fit. I still told him I wanted the set for my personal use and I have no problem modifying them. He just flat out said no (which I thought was ridiculous considering how much time/money I had invested in helping him get these to work).

I have the Integy Rustler adaptors but since the crt.5 axle diameter is just SLIGHTLY smaller than the rustler/stampedes, there is a wobble that would tear up my axles in no time.

So...now I want to run 30 series (badlands) to get the width/height of the tire I want.

Which offset rustler/stampede wheels should I get to run on all 4 corners of the truck? (fronts/rears?). I think fronts all around would be the widest offset?

These say front but look like nitro fronts (bearings).

Anyone know how wide you can make the crt.5 just by adjusting offset and tire width? If the front 30 series/badlands combo is not much wider than stock, what is the widest 2.2 wheel out there i can run on all 4 corners? If I did that I would just pick up some m2k's and tape them and run some stiffer foam.

Anyone run 30's on their crt.5?

Fronts have more offset than rears.

I ran the traxxas front 2.2 wheels with the rcm chassis and it looked good tio me. I also ran jato rear wheels with anacondas and that looked good too, and they are closer to the 30 series.

Ok Thanks. Now I just need to figure out what the deal is with the Torque 30 series front wheels. They look like nitro fronts. They do sell "electric rears" (no electric fronts) as well as the standard nitro rears. Might have to run 4 of either the electric rears, or the regular rears.

Anyone have insight on the offsets?

I have the extended rcm chassis too and really want it another inch or so wider than stock.

Nitro rears or electric fronts are the wider offset rims
