Questions before the project starts (e_maxx) - 12.11.2005, 10:04 AM

Hi all I have a lot of questions.

1) I have 10-12C lipos 3s2p 5200 MAH. If I run a 9XL would be ok with 6s2p (22 volts 5200 MAH) or do I need to reconfig my batterys to allow 6s3p (22 volt and 7800 MAH)

2) The cells are the older wide Irate cells, Any idea which chassis would allow the cells to fit?

3) I am very not happy with the stock steering setup on the E-maxx even after I upgraded to Hitec 645 servo, I think I need a dual servo setup. So again which chassis is best

4) I saw a chassis that was a full 4" longer then stock. I think I could get batteries in that, Comments on a chassis that long?

I am sure I will have more questions but this should get me started. My #1 goal is a reliable basher. #2 is I would like decent run time. And of course since this is a basher project $$ is important. Looks are not that critical. I plan on lots of jumping and would want Speed up to Mid 40's.

I am leaning towards many fastlane upgrades since I like there warrenty.

But I don't want to pull the trigger on any parts until I get the chassis figured out and how I can reuse the Lipos I got. (keeping cost down), I got the lipos for airplanes.

Got any dimensions on the Lipos? 6s at 5200mah should be just fine with the proper gearing. Fitting the cells would be the main problem(potentially, though I am not sure the actual dimensions of the pack).

Get a real servo saver(like the UE) and your wioll get some steering. The 645 is OK at best, but you don't need two servos for steering. Just get a stiff servo saver and feed the servo 6 volts and you will have nice steering.

4 inches is overkill. 2 inches(like the bbp racebomb) is a sweet extended length. Take a look at the new flm emaxx chassis, it has a nice price.

The lipo's are 35mm x 61mm x 99mm
For a 3s 5200 MAH so I'll be putting 2 of them in the truck

Yea I was looking at the FLM Extended chassis, Again the batteries are the issue, maybe that is.

I think the batts would hit the tranny as far as hieght. I would go with a gmaxx for the batts. Just my suggestion.

If the measure meants that you posted are correct. The length is not problem. The 35 mm x 61 mm is the problem. You can stand the packs up with the 35 mm wide and 61 mm up and fit no problem. you could put it on the flm chassis but I think it is going to hit the motor mount plate. Unless you hange the batts off the side. Which in turn not look good or be safe if a roll
