n00b Gearing Help! - 04.03.2009, 01:46 PM

OK My E-revo has gone brushless was wondering what would be good gearing to run the wanderer 10xl without a heat sink. For Bashing and Racing.

Mamba Monster V3
Wanderer 10xl
x2 2s 5000Mah 20c Lipos(race) & x2 3300Mah NiHm(bash)

only gearing i have is Stock 19/68

what would u guys recommend?

Welcome to the forums!

No matter what, the Wanderer/Feigo is going to get warm with extended running, even WITH a heatsink. The heatsink also functions as a clamp so it keeps the ends from popping off which is something the Feigaos are prone to. I would run no more than 10-15 minutes at a time with breaks in between to let the motor cool. Yeah, start with stock gearing and monitor temps and gear from there.

The R/C calculations like in my sig will help you get an idea of the speeds to expect.

If you aren't happy with the motor, you can always pick up a Medusa 70 or 80mm motor, or a Castle 2200 motor at a later date. Either of those offer very good bang for the buck.
