need a little lipo help - 04.06.2009, 06:11 PM

hey guys, i just picked up one of the zippy hardcase car lipos. (4000mah 2s) and when i plug the pack in to balance on my hyperion eos ac/dc charger i always get a loud and very annoying warning saying the balance voltage is too high. it flashes to a screen displaying the cell voltage (i think) and it reads one cell at 4.94 volts and one at 4.97 volts. so as of now, i cant balance the pack because the charger gives me this warning thing. help is much appriciated guys, thanks!

I am suprised that it has not melted yet... I would suggest getting a voltmeter and checking that... Maybe wiring some sort of load to the lipo, like a light bulb and trying to get the voltage down. Not sure if that pack will be worth anything after being overcharged like that, but you never know.

just took the pack out for a run, i ran it for 25mins and the charger still gives a 4.9 and 4.93 volt warning about the balance voltage being too high. im workin on finding a voltmeter to verify the voltage

Something has to be wrong in your wiring or connections on that pack then. No way after running it 25 minutes would the voltage be the same. Good luck with it and let us know what the end result is.
