I like the new setup... It handles pretty damn good and absorbs bumps well. I might try the lighter springs just to see how it will ride but so far i like the way its setup now.

-1- Anyone run NiMH in there E-Revo?
-2- If so, do your batteries get SUPER hot?
-3- If not, why the hell are mine so hot after a hard bashing?
-4- Is something wrong?

How hot are they getting? I'd get some good Zippy Flightmax packs and never look back. You won't regret it. NiMH can hardly keep up with a brushed system, much less a brushless when you make the jump, so LiPo should probably be the first thing you do.

Hot enough i cant hold them in my hands.

Believe me i'm ready for some lipo's!
I'm thinking 2s 5000mAh packs would suit me well.

I run two 7.2V 3000maH using stock erevo with 62t spur and for 10mins of run time my battery temps are close to 150, where as you cna pick them up, but not handle them for more then a few seconds.

I'm going to borrow a lazer temp thing tomorrow and see how hot mine are actually getting.

I believe the gearing is stock on my E-Revo... I need to find out.

I know the spur gear has the tooth count molded onto it, as for the pinnion no idea.

Try gearing down slightly. Are the motors getting hot as well?

Nope, the motors stay cool. Just the batteries are what get hot.

But the stock gearing should be fine.. I think.
I'll see what kind of temps they get tomorrow.

Make up your mind! hahahah

I honestly dont see the brushed motors staying to long haha..
Considering that, do you think i should stick with the 2x 2s lipos, or should i step it up a notch?

hi,
is it possible to use lipo batteries with brushed motors? the titan 550 motors in the e-revo for example.

PS Short answer yes - I do on my crawlers but you need an esc with a lipo cutoff or use an external one...
