I run an 8ight-e buggy and it's awesome.. I went w/ the Medusa 36x60mm 2000kv w/ a MMM esc on 4s lipo and it smokes... If you want to save a few bucks vs going w/ a Neu don't be afraid, Medusa are awesome motors. I opted for the Tekno conversion though as it allowed for standard brakes and includes their elektri-clutch.

Pretty nice setup iMO, but I'm sure the straight up losi conversion is good too.

PS stay away from the 1515 in these buggies.. too much weight and more than what is needed. Truggy on the other hand the 1515 is perfect, or the medusa 70mm motors.
