Sensor wires? -
05.02.2009, 01:23 PM
I'm assuming that any sensor wires will work on the RX8 system. I am looking for shorter wires at the moment and I have an old 120mm sensor wire harness that is almost the perfect length. Id like to just use it rather than having to loop the longer stock wires. I'm pretty sure that would be OK, but I figure Id ask just to be sure. Its just wires right? As long as the plugs fit I'm assuming its all good.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

I guess there is only one way to find out....when I have had wires to long I will fold them over and use a zip tie to keep it in place

Yes, any sensor harness should work. We do offer a 100mm cable ourselves: TT3811

Shorter......wow, I was realizing I need one a tad bit longer than the 200mm supplied one. I found one that's 270mm that another poster stated works. The 270mm was a tough one to find too. BTW, it's for an 8T 2.0 Tekno conversion.

My combo did not come with the silver screw to mount the sensor wire holder. My question is to mount this holder I assume you have to take one of the black screws out of the back of the motor? Can someone tell me what size this screw is, I would hate for my sensor to come unplugged off the motor. Thanks
PS> sorry for highjacking your thread

I think some of the combo's were missing that screw. My buddy got one that also did not have the screw.

Sensor cable tie down screw that should have been included is 3mm x 10mm flat heat.
Should also have received 4/40 x 1/4" pan head for mounting the speedo. These cannot be longer or they will screw into the pcb.

Obviously you have to take out one of the black screws out of the back of the motor, correct?

Yes you replace the original screw with the longer screw.
