I started off with Zippy's in the beginning as they were great for the price. I have always used 6S and purchased mine from Hobbycity/Hobbyking.com well before they were popular. Once they started to become out of stock more often than not, I started to slowly switch over to Nue Energy batteries.

They just had a big sale and I loaded up on their 3300 and 3900 6S batts. They still have a few in stock in 4S, 5S, and 6S but your mah choices are limited. Personally, the Nue batts are better than the zippy's when it comes to performance as well as heat after a run.

I'll second the Neu's. Good quality for the price.

Do you have a charger yet? And how about radio system? Looks like you can pick up a used 2.4 system for just over 100 bucks. Don't skimp on the charger.

Well I have a DX3r from crawling that will be used on the 8ight, and the charger I have had for a couple years is the Hyperion eos6060i or something. I will be checking out the Neu's for sure, thanks for the heads up.

Okay I looked at whats available. I guess I should get like a 5500 5s and a 5500 6s. The 5s would be for track and 6s for bashing?? Or will these be too heavy? I just want decent runtime. Are these comparable to the 30c rated zippys or better? Sorry about all the questions. I will be a little over budget but the wife will live.

I dont think there was ever a doubt about her living - its your well being that we are trying to help!!

I would default to 5S, but I understand the desire for 6.....

So are the Neu lipos 25c rating good enough. I mean zippy's are 30+c or are zippys constant ratings "exaggerated" like the maxamps lipos. Ever since Maxamps I take constant ratings with a grain of salt, lol. I just heard with the weight of the truggy it can be hard on the esc and lipos if not rated high enough. I need schooling....if you say these are the way to go then I will get a few ordered. I am guessing I wont have to wait a month for delivery either like with the zippy brand lipos. Anxious to get more feedback so I can get this build finished up and crashing!! Thanks again.

The Zippy's have actually proven to be fairly good, and suprised quite a few of us.
The Neu's at 25C should be fine - Enerland cells I believe. They also have a version that you charge at 5C if your interested.

I'll be running Neu 5S in my 8T when I get it finished (it just showed up today). I'll be running a MMM/1515 2.5D in it. I'm not at all concerned about these cells keeping up.

What if I ran 2 of these in a series??

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...0C_Lipoly_Pack

Way cheaper alternative and tell me if I am wrong but wont that make 5000mah 6s lipos...shoot I can make two 6s lipos for the price of one neu and they are in stock. I dunno just an idea. Then I will get a couple pairs of 2s for some 4s packs.

Tell me what you guys think. I could shrink them together and make some nice packs out of these.

2 of those in series will give you 6s 2500mah. You'll need 4 of them if you want 5000mah 6s.
