Uhh Sully, the fan kicks in at 150F and beyond that I think the thermal protection kicks in.

IIRC the fan comes on at 140. If you're getting much more than 160 than the fan is either damaged or not capable of handling the heat. If it can't handle the heat you're most likely pulling WAY too many amps.
