My first RC helicopter! - 05.22.2009, 01:32 AM

My girlfriends mom surprised me big time earlier this week when she found out I was getting somewhat "interested" in RC helicopters and decided to take matters into her own hands and ordered me one!

I believe this stemmed from the fact that earlier this week I had managed to secure a warranty fix for an "issue" that her husbands new HP laptop had suffered from after only having it 4 months and I guess this was her way of saying thanks and preventing them from having to buy a whole new $600 laptop!

I"m having so much fun with this thing, my Savage Flux is jealous!

welcome to yet another addiction! Check out the blade mcx or walkera lama2 when you get the chance. Those are the two I fly indoors now.

There's two sides to every schwartz, he got the up side and I got the down side.

The you'll what a TRex 450, then 500, then 600, it's never ending!

Heli's are fun. If you get real serious though I highly suggest get a flight simulator. 200 bucks and you can crash as much as you need with no more financial burden. It's a great tool for learning.

I can see the appeal, but i'd rather put money into my Flux for awhile. At least this little thing will satisfy my helicopter curiosity for the time being instead of getting a E-Flite

A blade cx2 would be the next step, along with the g4 sim. Looks like you are doing well with the little one you have.

Yeah I saw one of those flying outside last week, it was pretty freaking cool. Love to be able to upgade the Lipo batteries and add LED lights. Maybe for my birthday a CX-2 is in order.

CX3 is out now. A little nicer than the CX2. I had a CX2, but it's real limited on flying outside. You can only fly it with no wind.

If you get real serious, go to the forums at www.helifreak.com and www.runryder.com

What do you consider cheap? There are several companies that offer TRex Clone combos.

You can also get some more inexpensive 3D heli's here:
