i do like a fast setup though. so i was set on the 1512 thinking that would be more than enough but after hearing i will see high temps from 2 people and speeds of only 40 then i have to go with a 1515 2200kv. i weighed my inferno and it weighs only 6.1 lb and i have a 8ight 2.0 that weighs 7.5 lb. i run the 2200kv on it with 5s 3850mah and it screams beyond control. this is why i thought the 1512 would be sufficient with a pound less weight on the inferno.

so what about this?

regular single speed, neu 1515 2200kv and 5s. i guess i could just gear it for different speeds but i think the thing will scream. didnt somebody say this setup was completely uncontrollable?

I will be honest, a "fast" setup to run onroad will heat up really quick.... I had a IGT that did 70mph on 4S running a 3300kv motor and it was hot after 5 minutes AND that was just doing a few speed passes!!! The ONLY logical way to do it would be a HV setup to keep the amps down but that turns into money for batts.........

You should be able to run the stock Kyosho 2-speed clutch bell on the 3 shoe Tekno adapter. The 1512 should be plenty with the 2-speed, but the lower kv motor will run cooler and still be fast, the on road cars have really tall gear ratios.

Any updates on this Ryu James? I have a GT2 coming in for track practice and want to do a similar setup.

no, i wish man. i started buying everything to do the conversion and then got distracted with the 1/5 scale project i am doing now. so that IGT is on the back burner for now. i will devote attention to it again when the 1/5 is done....and i get some more funds....this 1/5 is killing me.
