LOL. Define "hot" Alan. More slip will yield more heat, so it is normal for the diff to be pretty warm after a long run(even a normal diff will heat up with prolonged use, but the plastic cup won't radiate the heat like the Slipperential, so it isn't noticed as much). If it is too hot to touch, you may want to tighten it a litle, but it can handle pretty substantial heat. :)
