You are right about the FLM towers, they are rather tall to get the slammed look with the shell down low. The general solution wouold be to have two trucks- one for on road and setup as such, and one for offroading- you could swap the electronics bewteen the two to save having double of the esc/motor/radio. Another option would be interchangeable front and rear ends that are setup for different purposes; a little excessive maybe, but but with the number of people selling their rcs to make some extra $$ at the moment, there are plenty of bargains to be had. Food for thought.

Its just gone midnight here, and the weather is... windy. Next day off is sunday, so hopefully it will be dry and sunny. 'Hope', great word that....

Well, I was planning on taking the truck out on sunday, but I ended up dog-sitting instead, joy. Anyways, I snapped a few pictures of the truck in her current format, just because, ya know?

Damage to the rear yolks caused by overzealous use of throttle over the last couple years:





I have a pair of spares for when they eventually do twist themselves into oblivion, but I wouldnt mind hearing some feedback about the newer Summit style Drive shafts that have a CVD style joint.

Very nice! I still can't wait to see a video! I can't decide what to think about the "seemless" pic. I like it, but I'm looking at it like it has two heads, you know? LOL

Nay saddly, they are for the emaxx front and rear only. If RPM sell them for the revo/erevo, then those should fit the G2r instead. I have thursday, friday and sunday off this week (), so if it stays dry I will do my best to get out and make a vid of the medusa in action.

For any UK based guys, WheelSpin Models has the Slipstream body for £23.47 ($38.46), so I pulled the trigger on that one tonight & it should arrive maybe friday/saturday, or monday probably. Not sure on the paint job, might go for hand finished digital camo (no stencils, just hand drawn brush stokes).

My truck is extended already remember, its about as long as a 3905, or the erevo more or less- the drag bar will help lessen any visual issues to the rear though, yeah.

Hey neil seeing as gorilla is not making these parts anymore like x-braces what are we going to do for replacment parts? I love this chassis design and doni want to see it go away. Oh well I better not crash into anything.

Neil you bent the servo plate before didn't you? Just bent it back right?

Yea, but you can only bend it back so many times before it breaks. Man I wish the lower chassis and servo plate were made of titanium. It a little heavier but a whole lot stronger.
Neil I have seen you post on making a heavier duty xbrace I would be in for a set too but lets make them out of 7075 t6 for more strength at the same time. May cost a little more but they probably would last forever.

I'm pretty sure titanium is lighter than aluminum. Not sure.

I did bend my servo plate slightly once, it was only minor though so a few bashes with a hammer and it was flat again- Ti skid saved my bacon.

As for replacement parts, ebay or B/S/T sections for originals, otherwise its a case of making a copy of the originals yourself by sending them to a machine shop; thats a rather $$$ option though, so my better suggestion would be to hit-up a fellow forum member. In my case, that would be the Candyman as he's UK based like me and has mad-skills, or you USA dudes could try either Metalman, Monster Mike, or maybe Serum (there are probably a few others too, just a case of finding the really nice custom built vehicles vs straight-forward kit based conversions etc).

Stronger X-braces are on my wish list though, just depends if or when I find another set of concrete steps to crash into...

Ti is lighter than Alu in principle, but I think it depends on the specifc type/alloy, and thickness ofcourse- seen some types of stell that are lighter and stronger than Ti, so it isnt the uber metal that some guys make it out to be all the time (for our needs though its plenty tough enough).
