Help with proline powerstroke shocks

I've got the Power Stroke shocks and have been quite happy with them. Only changes I've made are 50wt oil and heavy springs. I run the extra heavy in the rear, works great. I've been toying with removing the bypass shocks and seeing how it handles. I know the Tamiya guys ran without them at MMIII. The bypass is subtle for sure but at scale I'm sure it does a lot on compression and rebound to smooth things out.
