Where to get Powerpoles in bulk? - 06.23.2009, 04:42 PM

Thinking of trying powerpoles out for my various multipack HV setups. Was wondering where to get the best price on bulk such as 25 pairs or more? Best I have found for 25 pairs in 20 bucks + shipping.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The 30A version are a bit cheaper if you want to go that route:

That's where I buy all mine also.

it is very hard to fit anything bigger than 14G into 30A PP. 12g fits but it's pain...
45A are much easier to work with and they mate with 30A if needed.

I get my PP from powerwerx as well :)

I haven't had much trouble with 12g fitting into 30A connectors, but I've had to trim 10g wires to fit. It's not an ideal solution, but it gets the job done.

I agree that 45A is the way to go. Once I'm out of my current stock of 30A, I'll be buying 45A from now on.

Hmm, would the 10GA even fit into the housing?

My 12GA barely fits...
What if you had the middle portioned soldered inside the bullet connection, and all the rest of the strands, solder to the outside of the bullet?

Would that work?

So the 45 amp models are the way to go. That price was for the 30 amp models. I guess you can solder to the crimp style 45amps, right? i did not see any 45amp versions that were not crimp style...

30A and 45A use the same housing and 10Ga wire fits .. most of the time :)

as long as it fits the housing you can solder it anyway you want to

Another question, can you plug a red connector into a black connector? Or can only like colors be plugged together?

The connectors are identical other than the color, so you can plug red into black. That's how you are able to make series connections between two packs.

all housings no matter what color are the same. if you are color blind then you can mate connectors together and secure them with a rollpin - beauty of PP

and secure the rollpin with some glue as it tends to fall out in offroad racing

But, there are notches, I thought I could do one vertical, and one horizontal, but you can't, as there's notches on the wrong side.

So you can only do top horizontal and top horizontal, and the corresponding plug, bottom horizontal, bottom horizontal, vice versa with vertical.

Hope you get it...
It's almost impossible to find a way to plug a red to black, when you have it setup like that.

I don't use the roll pins, they came very tight, is this normal?
I ordered em from eBay, so mine could be knockoffs :( Hope not, seller said they're 100% genuine, and fortunately, he wasn't from Hong Kong.. :D
