I was thinking of buying a kershaw design 1/6 scale revo and I have 3 mamba monsters lying around myself....then pick up some 22.2v 6s lipo pack like two of them and run them.....

i tried it with an e-maxx, but i destroyed the transmission once then a diff and i'm still trying to tweak it to get to run right. i've gotten it to about 70-75 but after that, i start stripping gears. i'm thinking UE or something. here's a pic:

those were 2 neu 1515 1y's in that e-maxx. i can pull it off with 2 pole feigaos, but the neus are just soooo much more powerful they just keep eating gears. i don't know enough about the e-maxx to know what manufacturer/ fabricators would be the strongest. maybe UE, maybe FLM...either way, it's gonna be awhile till i try again cause it's expensive to keep replacing.

Ue 8 spider diffs would be best for a speed demon emaxx, but not too much you can do to beef up the tranny. FYI though, we have a member here who put a neu 1521 in his erevo and made it do 81-84mph. Single big motor has many advantages, so long as the esc and batts are up to scratch.

This 1/5 truck appeared quite a whiloe ago, but it is still rather impressive.

wouldnt two motors just provide more torque though?

If they were both 1515 sized, then yeah. A pair of XL motors vs a 1521 would be interesting though. I wouldnt get too hung up on torque though, think more about power output in watts probably. John Crook (aka Johny Maxima) only managed 70.1mph with dual 7XLs on 5s lipo, where as the other guy did ~84mph with the 1521 1y on 6s lipo, so dual motors wont always be the best way to achieve insane speeds. The extra weight of dual motors and batts would weigh the truck down alot, and the dual motors turning a single spur could lead to potential stripping issues.

Hmm, E-Maxx is not 1/5 scale, even with longer chassis (they call it 1/10, don't they?). And why make titanium driveshafts, steel is stronger.

i thought about a 1521, i'd love to try one, but aren't the mounting holes spaced differently so you'd have to fabricate your own mount?
