It could also just be the heat from the motor and ESC diffusing into the wires.

the bodyshell is on the whole time so it does start to heat up inside...
the 5.5mm connectors get quite hot but the 10 guage wire from the esc to them remains only warm so i think it is heat coming from the esc causing them to heat up |
