Anyway to replace the shell? - 06.18.2009, 07:07 PM

I stripped the screw holes on my 60mm. Is there any easy way to replace the body, or is this something I have to send in to Medusa?

Best bet would be to call them. Unless someone else has had the same work done, any figure you get here would be a guess at best.

Buy a front cover from Mike, you can use the existing 19mm spacing holes to mount the cover, and it has std 25mm mount pattern. 10 bucks...

How will it mount onto the RCM motor mount? Wouldn't the screws in the 19mm spacing prevent the motor from sitting flush?

Also is this the correct one? "4mm medusa"

The front of the cover is countersunk so it will sit flush. And yes, select the Medusa option from the drop-down menu.

Medusa a a batch of motors go out with incorrectly tapped front mounting holes that would strip fairly easily, it stands to reason that yours was in that batch. If you send it back you will most likely only have to pay for shipping, they should cover everything else.

Yup, I paid for shipping to medusa when I snapped my shaft, and they paid for the return shipping. Only took about 3 weeks. Awesome service IMO.
