MMM Beeps for 4s, arms, steering works but continues to beep - 06.27.2009, 11:52 PM

I was out practicing at the track and my 8ight was performing just great. Then all of a sudden the buggy just came to a stop. It was beeping, and I figured that the battery was dead. I've never really run it low enough for the cutoff to kick in before.

Anyways, I get back home, charge up the battery while I'm cleaning the car up and then once the battery is charged up I try the car out to make sure everything's working still. It beeps 4 times for the 4s lipo I've got in there, and then arms. The MMM keeps beeping and the lights are flashing. Steering works, but neither forward or reverse do.

Is my MMM fried? What else should I try?

Thanks,
Bryan

Sounds like some wires came loose. Check all your solder joints and try a different motor if you have one.

Have you tried re-introducing it the the Tx/Rx like in your initial setup?

If all of the lights are flashing it means the your MMM is not getting a signal from the receiver. I would make sure your trim didn't get bumped too.

I do not think any of us here are capable of helping a "megadork". we need to find an "ultradork" to help you out. Even a "superdork" may be handy.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I can see some wiring exposed on the lines going to the receiver-- it may be shorted all the way. Is this something I can solder without voiding warranty or should I send it in?

Just tape them up - As long as you don't solder to the board you are ok.

Yeah, just separate the three wires and tape the places where you have wires exposed. Looks like you had some loose wires and they got chewed up when you were bashing.

Hey nitrostarter, shouldn't that be "Geaux Tigers" ? Just kidding.
