MMM powered Scooter - 07.24.2009, 05:38 PM

A while back I decided to try running my Mamba Monster in an electric scooter that I found at goodwill for a dollar. I ran the stock brushed motor on 5s lipo for a blazing 7 mph and constant current drain of about 20 amps. Now my question is, what do I need for a manual throttle signal? Is there something I can buy that the MMM plugs right into? Otherwise this project will not resume if I have to continue using my radio and receiver. I plan on eventually running 6s for maybe 8.5 mph.

... But you never know where projects will end up!

Get a servo tester and a servo lead extension of suitable length. That should do it.

ok here's my skinny....(figured this would be a good place to put this since it's pretty much the same project)
my dad nought this E-bike, you know...one of the 200w 24v gell cell setups with very basic esc...
after a lot of stuffing around there isnt much left of the original bike but with stock electrics it is now a 2wd bike () and has a 3 speed hub on the front wheel for the motor to give it 3 speeds.
right, so now he's pushing 24mph when he's pedeling.

now he wants more range and to make it more efficient...he wants an uber bike

list of parts...
Refurbed MMM, servo tester, lowest KV BL motor i can find (prolly a AXI outwunner) and hook that up to his setup (eventually, testing done with stock motor), make sure it isnt gonna get overloaded.
next...get 4x zippy-H 20-30c 6s 5000mah packs.
that will give him 20AH at 25.4v and up to 400A at his disposal.

now that's the easy stuff...
here is my main question...
with all these packs in series i essentually have a 6s 4p.
now all these packs need balancing. can i hook up a blinky ballancer to all of the packs and leave it on there permanatly?
does the blinky only ballance? will it affect discharge performance of the packs?

thanks guys...these 2 projects could be fun (wish i myself had the funds to pimp out my $1 scooter )
