I shipped in a bad MMM about 2-3 weeks ago and got a replacement yesterday, you get what you paid for! Take a chance on something like a HW ESC and if it fails you're sitting there going "well, this sucks" and you are left holding the bag. Every Castle controller I've ever had go wrong I didn't fret over because I know they'll take care of me, that security alone is worth the extra money to me.

All I ever wanted was an honest weeks pay for an honest days work.

I didn't buy a CC product until I heard such good reviews about them. I'm a very cautious buyer when it comes to the internet. I'll buy anything out of a store but off the internet it has to be worth the money.

When my 80A is still flying to China,I've been playin with a 150A.
I've just arrived from local track where tested an ezrun 150A with SP 8,5R bl motor on my RC8.
I was pretty amazed how smooth this combo is with sensor wire connected, very good,no cogging at all.
Without sensor it cogs a bit at start and doesnt seem to have the same top end as in sensored mode.
Temps were around 60-65șC on 4S
For the price of SP motors those are worth a look.

I just had a little HW fire too.

-Brand new Caster Truggy
-HW 80A ESC
-New Turnigy 2x3000 4S
-New 2.4G radio system

Smoke, fire, melted plastic, wiring ETC.
Was waiting for MMM to be returned so was trying
an 80A HW in the meantime. Only changed timing to 7.5deg, punch default.

I can't believe how much damage it has caused on a brand new setup
that has never even flipped or hit anything. I might go back to flying
for a while, only damage is when you crash.

Was it the hw truggy combo from castor? I did lower the timing to 7.5 on my HW80A and the esc blew up. It was working flawlessly for 2 weeks prior to the timing change. I was lucky that the esc din catch fire.

It will I guess. There were similar complains about lowering the timing.

No I bought the race roller version and bought a HW ESC to run until MMM
returns.
I had read about not setting punch too low and I didn't set timing all the way
to zero to be safe. Seems that was a bad idea.

Smoke is OK, send it back and get a new one.
This bastard melted a new body, I'm not having luck so far sourcing another one.

I cant believe changing the timing on these things makes them blow up, but I think I've read it in a couple other places too not to mess with it. I'm starting to think that its just not easy making one of these controllers and that they are all hit and miss with reliability.

Just leave those power settings to default and those hw esc will not act up.
