NEU 1527/1.5D + 6s = UNBELIEVABLE!! - 08.01.2009, 09:17 AM

I finally put my NEU motor in my E-Maxx with a 6s 5000mah 25c TP lipo and I'm speechless! I really have to be sensitive with the throttle because even with wheelie bars it will flip over like an acrobat! Also for the first time since making it soo heavy I can get it to pop wheelies, in second gear, with the truck already on the move. My truck weighs over 17lbs, and my gearing is 22/66 and this motor won't even break a sweat? (I can grab the motor after about 6/8 minutes and it's barely even warm).
I'm doing a major tune up on it today and I'll post some photos hopefully by the end of the day. If I run it Sunday at the strip I'll post a video so you can see this motor in action for yourself.
The hardest thing to believe is that this motor can handle up to 10s! Yeah and real soon, I'm going to get a esc so that I can do just that... run 10s. I know it will be uncontrollable... but who cares! lol.

Yeah, a 10S setup on that beast would be awesome. Which ESC are you going to use? A LT-10S?

Probably the mgm that can handle 30cells/10s. Don't know much about this one you named. Is it good? Also how much, and how many amps is it?

Lutach, a long standing member here had some esc's made, a 6s 200 amp and a 10s 150 amp (I believe) Someone will provide a link, that is the LT10S he is talking about

Even a 100amp 10s is good for 3700 watts (37v x 100 amp = 3700 watts) which equals 4.9 horsepower. I doubt you will pull anywhere close to that kind of load with your setup.

Remember, as volts go up amps go down (with same gearing, higher gearing may be possible with increased voltage, but is unecessary due to higher motor rpm)

I'd like to modify that statement just a tad... I think it should read "when geared for the same speed". I know that's what you meant but some less experienced person might read it and have their truck unintentionally geared for 80mph.

This is the biggest area I'm studying right now. I am pretty green in this area but I'm learning.
So (37v x 150 amp = 5500 watts) which would equal around 6.6 Horsepower?

Actually, 5500w is closer to 7.5HP; 1HP=746w.

But it's toque that's amazing, and right at 0 rpm too. 150A on that motor with your gearing is almost 6 ft-lbs.

At any rate, that's gonna be peak specs, you won't pull that during normal running.

ha ha always stick with your first answer! I thought it was around 7.2 or something like that. Wow that is a lot of torque! Now if I could just find this guy in my area ready to do this pullout with me, I can put it to the ultimate test!

The LT-10 that I have right here in front of me says LT-10S-120 amp. So only 4440 watts :-)

I'm using the 1/8scale Kyosho buggy diffs. They are pretty durable as far as I've seen so far. The trans is 100% aluminum gearing as well. In simple terms... there is not a part on my truck that hasn't been upgraded! From bumper to bumper it's upgraded.

True, even with 12S on my 22+ 1/5th scale with a low KV motor it barely pulled more than 60Amps... even tied to a poll and giving her full throttle... But with 8S and Hot motor on the firehammer 1480 (2280HA) it was pulling more than 200 Amps.. darn wires were hot as heck... And that's the 10 AWG from RobotMarketPlace... I'd love to see a videoo T-Bro... I have a 1527 (850Kv) all ready for 12S... on an 18 pounder..
