VXl esc + dewalt 775?

i wouldn't bother really.
the VXL is probably the single worst ESC ever conceived.
the only good thing i found with mine was the case.
but it cogged, the LVC never worked properly and the caps fell off.

BUT to answer you question...you caps might be dead OR have simply fallen off the board because what you said is exactly what mine did till i repaired it then brought a mamba.
try fix it, if no luck you MIGHT be able to return to traxxas to get a warrenty for a fee like i did.
then when you get the new one back, sell it to a noob on the traxxas forum and buy a mamba max.....like i did
