Talking found my next rc: HYPER STE - 08.22.2009, 03:50 AM

after doing a bit of looking around, i had narrowed my choices down to 3 BL setups:

hyper ste
ofna ultra lx-e
hyper 1/10 sc truck

i have chosen the hyper ste because i want a bit of a smaller rc. i have a rustler and i think a 1/12 will be the perfect size for my bashing style: 75% onroad with big jumps (bike ramps) and mid-air stunts such as backflips, 15% racing on a road oval agaist 1/10 at my LHS, and 10% offroad bashing/track driving.

i am planning on doing a budget setup to start out with. i will likely end up with a neu 1409 motor some time down the road.

this is what i have picked out so far:

http://www.nitrorcx.com/ezrun-60a-sl...-1-10-car.html
http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store..._20C_Lipo_Pack
PL dirt hawgs, gladiators, or some other long lasting 4" tire.
either my traxxas rx and tx from my rustler or that $90 2.4 setup from rc4wd (depends on budget)
hxt 10kg servo (i have one that was meant to be used as a spare for my rustler, but was never needed)
geared for about 40mph
diff oils 5k,100k,5k F,C,R (after seeing a crt.5 doing standing backflips in a fellow RCM member's video)

ok, now with the questions:

will that battery be sufficient with my setup, or is bumping up to the 3300mah 30c battery pretty much mandatory?
what are the longest lasting 4" diameter tires on pavement. i'm used to bald tires on a 2wd rustler, so traction isn't really a huge issue.
which pinion gear do i need to go about 40mph with 33,300 motor rpm and 4" tires?
are there any changes you would recommend (staying budget please)

also, if anyone has any used motors that will work well with this truck on 3s, and the price is right, pm me.

They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
